How do our sponsored cleanups work?
You pick the date, time, and beach.
We bring the supplies.
We lead your group in an impactful service experience!
At the end, we weigh all collected litter and take a group photo to document your impact.
We strongly encourage all groups to make their cleanup event open to the public.

For corporate groups: We rely on corporate contributions to continue hosting impactful service events in Chicagoland. We are happy to work with your budget to facilitate a meaningful contribution. We thank you in advance for supporting our work!
For nonprofits and student groups: We'd love to host your group — we welcome but do not require a monetary contribution.
For groups of 50 or more volunteers: Please let us know your expected group size at least three weeks prior to your cleanup, as we will need to obtain a permit from the Chicago Park District. This will incur an additional administrative charge for your group.
Interested in leading your own cleanup? We also offer online training and supply kit drop-offs for self-led cleanup groups.
Tax information: We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All contributions to CBCU are tax-exempt (i.e., no sales tax). All contributions in excess of the fair market value of your chosen cleanup package are tax-deductible. Please reach out to [email protected] for additional details.
